Better Still, Work out of Gratefulness
Last August, I encouraged us to work for
Heaven's rewards.
"Nothing wrong with that!" I said.
Nevertheless, if you are still besieged by
a guilt feeling because the Enemy is ever
accusing the brethrens, may I suggest that
there is a more noble, selfless motive to
work for the One who gave His life--without
the slightest regards for His Own Self--
for us all.
Wouldn't it be better to work for the
Savior who has given His all to save sinners
like us from the Hell to which we were all
bound...
...out of a grateful heart for what He has
done at the Cross of Calvry?
Needless to say, we will do this more and
more even as we get to know Him and His
Word better, and
as we learn to increasingly appreciate His
ever-attractive character and His
sacrificial love for us.
Are you working out of compulsion or
gratefulness for what He has done for you?
